We have the privilege to run our own pharmacy at the clinic. It is good for our clients because we can dispense the medicines to our patients at discount prices. This has been a very successful venture for us. Revathi, our administrator, is in charge of running the clinic pharmancy.

Our medicine sales in 2019 were 1,900,000 Rupees ($25,333). We make a profit of 600,000 Rupees ($8,000). A small part of this profit covers inventory losses if any and also covers the free medicines we may give to the poor.
The most intriguing thing is that same medicines here are available there with the same names but cost a fraction of what they cost here. The top medicines and their costs follow.
Ailment | Medicine | Cost per pill |
Diabetes | Metformin 500 mg | 1.7 cents |
Hypertension | Amlodipine 5 mg | 1.7 cents |
Hypertension | Atenolol 5 mg | 0.9 cents |
Gastritis | Pantoprazole 40 mg | 4.6 cents |
Malaria | Chloroquine 200 mg | 1 cent |
